Marmalade came to our branch on the 30th March 2025, after coming from a previous situation which was unsuitable.
He was sharing a home with almost 50 other cats in poor conditions, they had all been continuously interbreeding and had started from just a handful of cats! Luckily, they came into RSPCA care and received the treatment they needed – many of the cats have feline calcivirus and were in need of urgent dental procedures.
Marmalade is a big boy, thought to have been one of the original few, clearly having more Maine Coon in him. He is friendly and confident and would be suitable for a home with another cat – but Marmalade does have feline calcivirus, meaning that he is more susceptible to infections and he must be kept in if he shows any symptoms.
Marmalade is thought to be a purebred Maine Coon, and his adoption fee is £600.
